Spring 2012 trends

2011 is almost over and it has been both amazing and hectic! Besides the flood of emails I have been getting to book for weddings in 2012, I am getting a lot of New Years Eve beauty advice requests. Of course I always say that anything gold on the eyes with tons of eyeliner, or a nude eye with a bold lip is my favorite for New Years Eve Celebrations. You could always be a ahead of the curve and step out in one of the SPRING 2012 TRENDS I have listed here straight off the runway. Mix and match a few or stick to the look in it's entirety. My favorite for Spring is the hight pony with a fresh face. As if you couldn't guess.

My new favorite foundation

As most of you know, Im a HUGE Clinique fan and have been for many years. It is my 'go to' makeup and skincare line for all of my clients and myself included. Recently, however, I made a discovery. In a rush to get foundation for a last minute wedding, I had to make a stop at my local Fred Meyer to find something- anything! Never having ever purchased 'drug store' foundation it took me over a half hour to test several different brands and types. 


There are specific things I look for in a foundation for my brides.
1. What is the coverage like? Light, medium, heavy? {I prefer medium}
2. Is it buildable and blendable? 
3. Is it good for the skin? 
4. Will it photograph well?
5. Is it long lasting?
6. Does the finish look smooth?


It turns out I found one that has all these wonderful benefits and it is less than half the price of Clinique's Perfectly Real Foundation! This stuff in incredible and I have been using it daily. It makes the skin look somewhat dewy, but if you want to avoid that look, you would just need to apply a primer before your foundation and finish it with a translucent powder. Purcahse here!

Have airbrush~will travel

As you know, celebrity makeup artists have been using airbrushes to apply makeup for years now. It was a very well kept secret until recently. Now that this technique has hit mainstream, and airbrush kits are easier to obtain, I Finally Finally Finally ordered my airbrush system!! I will be waiting by the mailbox daily until it's arrival.
To most people, including some makeup artists, the thought of an airbrush is somewhat frightening and intimidating. Luckily not for me... I will be spending the next month playing with, experimenting and practicing it's awesomeness.
